On one of my visits to encourage and evangelize to the younger ones at my Alma mata, a young girl came to me crying. She was about 12yrs of age and in tears she lamented, “My mother said I should go and live with my father and my father said he is not my father that I should go and ask my mother who my father really is. I asked my mother and she said he is my father. I’m confused sir! What do I do?” Of course I got teary too… asking myself why for God’s sake should this poor young girl be made to bear this kind of trouble at this age, why?
Today, millions of children exist around the world who have a father but don’t know who he is or where he is, in fact, some only show up when the girl is about to get married or when the child has become successful (for the sake of taking advantage). Statistics of ladies looking for the whereabouts of their fathers because of wedding plans have sadly surged.
Today, while I am wishing all men a Happy Father’s Day, my heart is stretching out today to all absconded fathers and to all their newest members who are now absconding or have just recently decided to run! Fathers who impregnated a girl out of wedlock and ran away, denying the lady, disowning the child and continually absconding from the God given task of fathering that your child, DADDY! WHERE ARE YOU? You may not have the money but please courageously accept your responsibility! You might have done this thing several years ago and you may even be a pastor now, but as the Lord lives and that baby lives, the fathering responsibility of that your child would continue to be held to your name in heaven and the blood of Jesus would not father/clear that for you. MAY THE LORD ADDRESS YOU TODAY BEFORE YOU ARE ADDRESSED ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
I am talking to you sir, fathers who totally left the responsibility of training and coaching sons to women. Fathers who left their Matrimonial home or sent out their wives but have gone further to neglect the GOD GIVEN role of “FATHER” over those innocent children with their precious destinies for whom heavens would not fail to hold you (their father) accountable. MAY THE BEFORE YOU ARE ADDRESSED ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
Fathers who left the home front for “missions” and never turned to ask after the wellbeing of their own children or even show a sense of responsibility needed to mentor those children especially when they could. These children hate Jesus and all that He represents because as far as they are concerned He stole their father! Before Jesus would ask you himself…DADDY! WHERE ARE YOU?
Fathers who sit down lazy doing nothing or absconding from the doable and required hard work needed to give their own children a future…DADDY!
Every prostitute on the street has a FATHER. The armed robber has a FATHER. The area boy was born to a FATHER. Every hired killer, internet fraudster, drug dealer, the road side beggar and even the one whose father is unknown…all have ONE FATHER WHOSE FULL NAME AND UP TO DATE DETAILS IS WELL KNOWN TO GOD FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND DIVINE JUDGEMENT. MAY THE LORD ADDRESS YOU TODAY BEFORE YOU ARE ADDRESSED ON THAT GREAT AND TERRIBLE DAY OF THE LORD.
Dear DAD, YOU CAN’T RUN! Unfortunately, nobody may be aware of the existence of this your abandoned child on the earth or the pains you have caused her and you may even escape all human apprehension but no matter how hard you try, GOD WILL CATCH YOU. Or how shall you escape THE GOD WHO CALLS ALL CHILDREN HIS OWN PERSONAL HERITAGE? HOW SHALL YOU ESCAPE HIM WHO COORDINATES YOUR BREATHING? HOW SIR?
Daddy! Since you are still alive and your children looking for you are still alive too…please even if it’s just for your own good …make amends with before you cross this river just ahead of you.
The tears you have caused your children have come up before God as a memorial on this father’s day. Please feel free to contact me, DADDY… I could guide you in taking the necessary steps to making things right… at least from today! It’s indeed better late than never!
